Phitek | Long Life Economy
The brief behind the long life economy headphone was to reduce manufacturing and assembly costs as well as reduce breakages and servicing requirements. This ultimately would lead to a more cost effective headphone that would last a higher number of flight sectors. The resultant design was a unique blend of form and function; a fully conductive headband that transferred audio signal from one ear cup to the next through cleverly designed & tooled conductive strips.
The Long Life Economy headphone won silver in the Concept/Experimental product category for New Zealand's Best Design Awards 2015.
