PaLLET EARTH | Composite Pallet

The composite pallet by Pallet Earth is a fantastic example of a seemingly simple product with greater details and value at its core.

Although the Composite Pallet may not appear at first glance like your typical environmentally friendly product its emissions reductions are at the core of the design. The pallet achieves this by outlasting typical wooden pallets and nesting to reduce the impact of return freight. The pallet is also made from 33% recycled material. Although the design is rugged and made to withstand the rigours of logistics sometimes accidents do happen. In this case the pallet is 100% recyclable and this is taken care of by Pallet Earth themselves.

Manufacturing the pallet also presented engineering challenges due to its use case and sheer size. The team needed to engineer the pallet to withstand the required load and drop tests while keeping under the set weight limit.Despite large amounts of shrinkage the top and bottom plastic components need to be injection molded to have a good fit together and around the steel internal frame.These two halves also needed to be vibration welded together to form a strong bond. Procreate worked closely with manufacturers to overcome these technical challenges.
